The season effectively ended for Anthony Rodriguez at the Grand Prix of Turkey, as he was never going to travel to the Grand Prix of China with Hutten Metaal Yamaha. Rodriguez was still on the YZ450F and unfortunately sustained a broken femur in a freak crash yesterday. The news was announced via social media moments ago.
"Had a freak accident yesterday and ended up at the hospital with a broken femur and broken ankle unfortunately. I'm staying positive what else can we do. Big thank you to everyone at the @HuttenMetaalYamahaRacing for taking care of me and my awesome girlfriend for going far and beyond to help me along with her family."
Rodriguez ended his fill-in stint on a high, as he secured a brace of fourteenths at the Turkish stop to secure fifteenth overall. It is unknown what he will do for the 2020 season – Hutten Metaal Yamaha will switch to the EMX250 class and not field a YZ450F.
